William "Bill" James Simmons, Jr., 60, of Memphis, Tennessee died on December 26, 2013. A local attorney for many years in East Memphis, Bill was a member of the Memphis & Shelby County Bar Association. He was also an active member in the Bankhead's Battery and Sons of Confederate Veterans. Bill was born on November 16, 1953 in Lake Charles, Louisiana to William Sr. & Rebecca Reid Simmons. Beside his parents, Bill was preceded in death by his sister Katherine E. Simmons. He is survived by his cousins Sara Lawson Bowlus, CA, James S. Lawson, Jr., Meridian, MS, Dayton Lawson Miller, OR, Anne Simmons-Benton, VA, D.C. Simmons, III, TX, and Carol Simmons-Martin, FL. and a third cousin, Billy Ethridge who lives in California and a host of friends and peers here in Memphis. Rest in Peace brother, we will meet again one day. |
